Taking a small vacation to the Lafeyette, Baton Rouge, New Iberia/Avery Island area around 7-5-07.

Is there any 4 - 6 hour fishing trips in the gulf that my husband and 14 year old son can plan?

Everything I have searched on the net says they are all day and cost at least 300.00

They fished out of Galveston one year and it only cost 65.00 for a 12 hour trip.

Any suggestions or advice is appreciated.

Sadly, Louisiana does not have ';head boats'; anymore, which were boats on which multiple different unrelated parties could pay a fee to go out in the gulf and bottom fish. That sounds like what they did in Galveston. Further, south of Lafayette, the central coast, is probably the poorest fishing inshore and offshore in La. There are few guides there, and $300 would actually be a great price. Most of the guides in Lake Charles and the SE part of the state charge $400-600 for inshore trip for speckled trout and reds. Offshore trips are $1000 and up.
