Bus close to Dooky Chase?

I would like to visit Dooky Chase for the first time, but will have no vehicle. I don%26#39;t mind walking a bit, but I%26#39;d rather not walk far in a bad neighborhood. Does anyone know which Norta line runs closest to Dooky Chase? I%26#39;ve checked the schedules and I%26#39;m still at a loss. Thanks

Dooky Chase still isn%26#39;t open. It may reopen by the time you visit, however.

I checked the NORTA website and it doesn%26#39;t appear that any buses use Orleans Ave these days. Considering the short distance from the FQ, I%26#39;d recommend a cab!

Dooky Chase%26#39; is just few blocks past the 1-10 on orleans, a taxi should only cost about 8 bucks from anywhere in the Quarter. I haven%26#39;t heard a projected opening day, but DC is hiring now.

The following is listed in the Smithsonian Culture Fest brochure for 12:30pm Sunday October 28:

Lunch with Leah: New Orleans’ Grande Dame of Creole Cuisine

DESCRIPTION Join Chef Leah Chase, the city’s grande dame of Creole cuisine, for home-style cooking at the famed Dooky Chase restaurant.Featuring commentary by Gene Bourg, local veteran food journalist.

EXPERTS Chef Leah Chase, Gene Bourg

LOCATION The Victorian Room, Dooky Chase’s

So, I%26#39;m assuming it%26#39;ll be open by then. Thanks for the responses. A cab sounds like the way to go.

The restaurant is ';ready to go'; from what I understand. Once staff is hired, it will reopen!

Good article, Zxylia. It was nice to see that my hometown provided the chairs.
