Airport Shuttle Service

I didn%26#39;t want to hijacked the thread on Airport transportation.

I read a few months back that the shuttle service is not so good since K, the wait time at the airport can be long. Has it gotten better in the last few months? What were your wait times?

The shuttles leave very regularly however with they wanting to fill the vans and get the luggage in sometimes it can drag on a bit not to mention the multiple stops.

I chose not to take them for my most recent visit, (even though I was solo and taking a cab on my own was kind of pricey). They were at least very open on their website when I put in my arrival time...a 3:20 arrival time meant waiting for a 4:15 shuttle and they estimated I would get to my hotel in the CBD at 5:15. Way too much time to spend to save a few dollars imo.

I go to NOLA 2 times a year, or three., for 12 years. Always took the shuttle, before. Since K., the waits, condition of the vehicles, etc., did it a coujple of times and then swore off. I%26#39;ll pay the double price for a cab. And if there are two of you, it comes out almost even!

Keep in mind that it was last year that I visited NO for a convention; however, the shuttle was the worst, and only bad, experience of the trip. While I had a reservation for a set time, the place was disorganized and I had to wait well over an hour to even board a shuttle van. They seem uninterested in honoring reservations and were simply lining people up whether they had a reservation or were a walk-up. Fortunately, they were very prompt on the return.

I%26#39;ll be in NO in December and have already decided to cab it. I%26#39;m all for saving money, but it%26#39;s just not worth the money, especially when they double charge you for the trip and only removed the double charge once I filed a claim with my credit card company.

From 2006-2007 I have traveled to NO 7 times. One time I made the mistake of taking a taxi-all the other times I took the shuttle. I had no complaints-if I stand around and wait I talk to the people around me including talking to the locals on where to go, whats going in NO and more importantly where to eat.

The wait was not that long though-15 minutes though the return trip was a pain since I would get to the airport early. But I%26#39;m from NYC and drove my car all of 851 miles last year the rest of the time I was walking, taking the bus or subway so waiting does not bother me.
