After returning from New Orleans yesterday, i have seen with my own eyes the devastation that is still to be seen and felt from Katrina.
It is unbelievable how we have been kept in the dark about what has truly happned over there, and what, in the form of rebuild, has not happened.
But the love and warmth we received from the locals was second to none, you are amazing people and i really hope in my heart of hearts that things turn around for you all as soon as possible.
On the anniversary of Katrina you are all in my thoughts and prayers that your lives will once again return to how they once were.
Love to you all xxxx
Katrina Anniversary
Thanks for your kind words and prayers. It was and is an experience that remains ever present with hundreds of thousands of people.
Katrina Anniversary
The people of New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We%26#39;re still here and we%26#39;re still struggling.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you today also.
We were in New Orleans last week and felt so welcome (and safe) in your beautiful city!
Our family worked with Habitat for Humanity and we saw some areas of town that are really suffering -2 years after the hurricane!
It is truly unbelievable.
We will be thinking of you every day but today especially.
Hope to be back soon!
I too witnesses both the devastation and the beautiful spirit of the people during a visit in June. Imo, Bush painted a very unrealistically rosy picture during his TV spots shown today. Today%26#39;s Oprah was much more in line with reality describing both the negative aspects as well as informing the audience that it is a wonderful city to visit.
I%26#39;m counting the weeks until my next visit.
Thank you so much, that really does mean a lot. Your kind words are appreciated.
