Avenue Inn

Has anyone stayed in this B%26amp;B? How is the location? We are mainly wanting to tour on foot and look at the architecture of the homes. Might want to have a little night life one night.

I think you will be in a good location if what you want to do is to tour the Garden District on foot and see the beautiful homes. You will be quite a distance from the French Quarter for night life, although you can easily get a cab.

I always prefer to stay in the French Quarter where all of the action is. The Garden District is very pretty, but it is much more of a residential area. The French Quarter is where the action is, and also has wonderful architecture, although it is different than the Garden District architecture.

Avenue Inn

If I%26#39;m reading the website correctly, this inn is past the Garden District and is between Louisiana and Napoleon. There%26#39;s a popular restaurant called Superior Grill nearby. Marginal Tex-Mex food but great cocktails!

Ask your B%26amp;B hosts about walking in the area. I%26#39;d guess it%26#39;s fine.

I%26#39;d agree with the $15-20 estimate for cabs to the Quarter. The St. Charles Ave bus is another cheaper (although much slower) option.
