Iberville Suites...location

After considering the replies from my last post, I%26#39;ve decided to change locations from the Best Western St Charles to something closer to the French Quarter. The Iberville Suites has a AAA rate of $89, which is similar to the price of the BW but they also charge $32 for parking. I don%26#39;t mind paying more if it is in a much better area. I also like the idea of a suite since we will have our 2 daughters in tow. We are just there a short time and plan on only going to St Louis Cathedral, Mardi Gras World and lots of good eating! Do you think this is a better choice? Can we walk to the cathedral? Thanks again.

Iberville Suites is a nice hotel and the location is better than the BW. You%26#39;ll be pleased.

You can definitely walk to the cathedral (10 minutes max) and be sure to enjoy Deanie%26#39;s Seafood, just across the street from the hotel%26#39;s Iberville St entrance!

Miss Alicia,

For a short visit, you%26#39;ll be glad to be located in the French Quarter.

You can walk to the Cathedral easily. If you%26#39;ve got a map available, you can map your route. Royal Street would be a nice walk with two girls in tow. Royal intersects with Iberville. You%26#39;ll pass beautiful antique shops along the way. Just past St. Peter Street, you can turn right on Pirate%26#39;s Alley which will take you to the front of the Cathedral.

The cost of parking will be worth the convenience of being able to walk everywhere you need to go.

Have fun!

In my opinion, staying in the French Quarter is always a better choice. You will be able to walk to anywhere in the French Quarter from your hotel, but you will have to take a ferry (I think it is still free) to get to Mardi Gras World. I think that Mardi Gras World has a shuttle that will pick you up at the ferry. Of course, if you have a car you can drive over to MGW, but taking the ferry is a lot more fun.

Wow, thanks for the quick replies! I feel much better about the Iberville Suites choice. Regarding Deanies, is it family friendly?

Deanie%26#39;s is definitely one of the more family-friendly restaurants in the FQ. Just make sure the kids don%26#39;t take a big bite out of the boiled potatoes they bring to your table when you sit down. They are spicy!

Iberville Suites is the right choice. Stayed there several times pre-K %26amp; was very satisfied. And, as everyone else said, it is within easy walking distance to all the FQ sights, including the Cathedral %26amp; loads of good restaurants. Enjoy!

As I recall, there%26#39;s a lot over on North Rampart where you can park for around $10 per day. It%26#39;s a lot that many of the service workers use and it%26#39;s just a few blocks from your hotel. Perhaps one of the local posters can provide a more specific location.
