The President ate there yesterday. I%26#39;m still not sure if they%26#39;ve reopened or if they are just doing ';special events'; here and there.
Leah Chase is 85.
There were pics of her in today%26#39;s paper with the Prez. She manages to look more beautiful with every passing year.
I surely hope Mrs Chase does her TV show again.
I am going to be visiting New Orleans Sept. 2-10 and was wondering if she would be opening so we could go there to eat. I live in NY and we see her and her restaurant on the news quite a bit up here.

Apparantly the Bush event at Dookie Chases was, as they say in Texas, ';All hat and no cattle'; as the food was completely prepared by the President%26#39;s personal chef.

A pity he missed out on Miss Leah%26#39;s gumbo.
We are so happy to hear that Dookie Chase will be reopening again soon. Makes me hungry just thinking about it. :) Leah Chase is amazing! I can only hope to have a bit of her courage %26amp; determination when I%26#39;m 80 ~ or now for that matter!
