We are headed to N.O. Friday on our way to Destin. Staying at Wyndham Canal Place. (first time staying there) My parents want to walk to Harrah%26#39;s, but read that it%26#39;s two blocks away. I remember it being closer. How far of a walk is it? My parents are in their 60%26#39;s and don%26#39;t want to walk far. And i%26#39;m worried about them walking at night. I seem to remember walking behind the parking tower...?? Please help!!

The Wyndham Canal Place is across the street from Harrah%26#39;s. Ride the elevator down from the 11th floor lobby to the ground floor of the mall and it%26#39;s probably a few hundred feet (if that) across Canal Street to Harrah%26#39;s front door.

At night, I%26#39;m unsure how late Canal Place is unlocked for the use of the elevators so you MAY have to walk around the Canal Place complex to use the Iberville Street hotel entrance. Just consult the front desk when you arrive.

Either way, your parents shouldn%26#39;t have any issues at all. Have fun!

thanks for the prompt reply!

P.S. on an interesting side note, my mother lived in New Orleans when she a little girl. I took her back to N.O. when she was 60 and we were walking around the quarter. She saw that iron fence around that B%26amp;B that looks like corn (you know the one I%26#39;m sure) and she remembered it when she was little! But back then it was not painted green, but black iron and it was someone%26#39;s home. I just think that%26#39;s so neat. Such a fabulous city
