I%26#39;m coming down to New Orleans in July for a conference. Instead of staying at the recommended hotel for the conference I%26#39;ve opted to stay in the quarter at St. Peter House. I know the hotel isn%26#39;t the typical 10 story highrise hotel and that%26#39;s why I chose it. Anyway can anyone tell me which room #%26#39;s to request? I understand that many of the rooms are much different and I%26#39;d like to request a good room.
Thanks!!!!
St. Peter House
I assume you will be flying in because parking can be a problem staying there. I understand each room is differently set up. Sorry but I don%26#39;t know of anyone that has stayed there.
St. Peter House
The hotel was closed for a while and must have a new ownership. Sorry I can%26#39;t provide any firm details although I would expect it to be modest at best. I know the rates are relatively low.
Yes I%26#39;m flying in. I%26#39;ve been to NO several times and I really do like the hotels that are rough around the edges which is why I picked St. Peter. I%26#39;ll be at the conference and then exploring the city most of the time anyway.
Hi Paul,
I%26#39;ve stayed in a decent room downstairs but I can%26#39;t remember the number. July is slow season so if they try to put you in a room that isn%26#39;t suitable hopefully you can move to another. It%26#39;s not my favorite hotel in NOLA but I%26#39;ve had good luck staying there in getting decent rooms before. My friends haven%26#39;t been so lucky. I like the location and the rates are really great for a budget.
Hope you have a great trip!
My wife and I stayed at St Peter%26#39;s House last year. Our room was upstairs corner room. The upstair rooms share a large wide balcony. The exterior needs minor repairs. The room itself was very nice with a window a/c unit. Impressive antique poster bed, side table and dresser. Small flat screen t.v. There is a neighborhood bar across the street. Depending on which night you stay, the bar does have ';party nights';, that have similar noise levels of a Bourbon St. balcony room. As long as your expectations are not too high, I feel you will enjoy the stay. We loved the surrounding neighborhood with the beautiful homes and its proximity to all of the French Quarter activities.
Txbella and Cajunlover, thank you so much for the info. It%26#39;s much appreciated.
My future wife %26amp; I had stay at st. peters several times and have always enjoyed it. The rooms upstairs on the balcony tend to be very small(just room for bed and bath), but you have the balcony(which we prefer). Those room #s are something like 43-47, or close to that(sorry for not remembering exactly). The bar across the street has never been a problem, because we get back late, about 1am or so. We are staying there for our honeymoon starting july 9th. Good luck and I hope that you enjoy your time there.
Irish, thanks for the information!!!! Enjoy your trip!
