Tales of the Cocktail ?

Hey guys,

So I will be in NO July 13th till the 20th and Tales Of The Cocktail starts the 18th. Is this something you guys would recommend taking time out to go do ? From what it sounds like this isnt the first year they%26#39;ve done this so im looking for some advice on weather we should head out and check it out.

Any advice?

Tales of the Cocktail ?

This is my third TOTC, and I%26#39;ve always had a great time. It%26#39;s a fun mix of locals and out-of-towners, industry heavyweights and just plain folks. Have a look at the seminars on the TOTC website and see if any appeal to you. The longest seminars are rarely longer that ninety minutes to two hours.

Seminars such as Ted Breaux%26#39;s absinthe seminar or Dale Degroff%26#39;s tequila seminar will almost certainly sell out in advance. If either seminar interests you, don%26#39;t wait until the last minute to order tickets.

Thursday night%26#39;s ';Cocktail Hour'; is fun. You can mingle and chat with other cocktail enthusiasts, and sample (as determined by your stamina) several dozen cocktails doled out by the pros. Immediately following ';The Cocktail Hour'; are the ';Spirited Dinners,'; hosted by some of the city%26#39;s best restaurants. Dinners are accompanied by cocktails specially designed to enhance the meal. (The menus are available for viewing at the TOTC web site.)

TOTC is also an opportunity to stay at the Hotel Monteleone for an amazingly low rate.

';Tales Of The Cocktails'; gets an enthusiastic thumbs-up from me!

Typo, sorry. Should read: ';.....seminars are rarely longer THAN ninety minutes, etc.';

Im really interested in the absinthe one, but it seems like its 35 bucks for one single of those history type tours. Is that right or is that the total for the ticket to get into everything?

I also tried buying tickets on the website but it seems like i have to be a company?

There%26#39;s no way TOTC could sell a five-day, all-the-seminars-you-can-eat smorgasbord for a one-time charge of $35. TOTC is five days long, with up to twenty events a day. The pros are flown in from all over the country to give the seminars.

So....it%26#39;s $35 per seminar.

I agree with you that the site is confusing and unwieldy. I hope they overhaul and redesign it for next year.

At the top of the first page, choose ';Schedule of Events';, and locate the Sunday absinthe seminar. Choose, ';Get tickets,'; and begin the registration process.

Where it says ';Company'; just type ';Self.'; If you have any more questions, you can e-mail the site directly:
