Diamond Jacks Casino

Can anyone give me some info on this Casino/Hotel. We are planning a trip in July and receive a comped room from them. I have stayed at Sam%26#39;s/Horseshoe. How does the hotel compare to those properties. Also the casino? Thanks in advance for the help. I need to make reservations soon.

Diamond Jacks Casino

Diamond Jack%26#39;s is the property formerly Isle of Capri in Bossier City. The hotel has had no change to the rooms, some to the lobby area since renovation started. The rooms often have a Jacuzzi tub separate from the shower in bath/commode area, though in the smallest rooms it may be in the bathroom. The TV service is expanded Basic, plus HBO, with Pay-per-View possible (large 27'; decent TV in bedroom and a small screen in the bath). Local telephone service is free, as is dial-up Internet in every room. If you desire WiFi service, you%26#39;ll have to ask for a lower floor room (3rd or 4th Floors work fine near the elevators)...and it%26#39;s FREE. I don%26#39;t think much of the buffet, sandwich shop or their better restaurant, compared to others at S/B casinos...it%26#39;s my last choice. But they do have Room Service, so if you%26#39;re looking for some coffee and a light breakfast, perhaps it%26#39;s a choice. Horseshoe charges $11.95/Day for WiFi (not subject to comp), so you can weigh the advantages there. There is a Fitness Center, and they have Massage available (ask for a 50% off coupon during July). It%26#39;s my #2 casino, can usually get a room...they comp that easily...and you can go elsewhere to dine.

Hope it helps!

Diamond Jacks Casino

Thanks for the information. That does help me a lot. I have been in the casino and it seemed to be a mess, but I understand they are renovating. We really won better there than the other S/B properties. It seems the machines have really gotten tighter in that area. Do you think so?

The machines are very tight. I think we are paying for the 6,000,000 renovations. I like Boomtown a lot better now. They are seemingly letting people win a little more. Probably the highest jackpot I have heard at Diamond Jacks is 4000.00. I go there all the time

I haven%26#39;t tried Boontown yet. We are going back on the 22nd of July to take our daughter. We are trying to decide where we want to stay. We really like to stay where we play. Can you give me more information about the hotel and casino? Lot of machines? Good drink service? Food etc.

Thanks so much for your help. Since you are a local I am sure you have a lot of great tips for that area. What do you think of the Horseshoe and Harrah%26#39;s?

I go to the S/B casinos a couple of times a month. Boomtown%26#39;s hotel hasn%26#39;t been renovated since it was Casino Magic and the rooms are beginning to show the wear. They recently reduced their deposit requirements for rooms from $100 to 30. They have fewer rooms than the other hotels, so they tend to fill up earlier. If you play and use your card at Boomtown, the buffet will be at least discounted a dollar if you have insufficient comp dollars to cover it. The steakouse there is okay. The buffet is better than Diamond Jack%26#39;s in my opinion, still not as good quality at Horseshoe. A closer second in quality would be Sam%26#39;s Town buffet, then Eldorado (better desert quality). I put Diamond Jack%26#39;s last in the quality range for all restaurants.

For slot gaming: Boomtown has had a good number of 1c to $1 slots, and the low-end slots seemed to have reasonable payoffs. Diamond Jack%26#39;s is similar, probably fewer lowest end slots.

As to drink service: Probably the best is Horseshoe. Your strategy of staying where you play, unless you play a lot and with a large bankroll / buy-in in table play, will produce the best food and hotel comps. Diamond Jack%26#39;s presently has a regular, weekly coupon mailing campaign, based upon your prior activity.

Harrah%26#39;s LA Downs is reputed to have good food service, though I;ve not sampled it recently, since tghey have no table games and that%26#39;s what I play.
