We will be going from the Royal Sonesta for a 10pm show at Snug Harbor. Do we walk or take a cab?

That is a doable walk. About 13 blocks or 1 mile. I would walk there along Chartres or Decatur since these streets are more travelled. I would take a cab back since the music clubs on Frenchmen close about 2 AM. I would not walk that late at night from Frenchmen St.

I would definately walk. I tend to walk everywhere in and around the quarter though. Just stick to main streets and try not to walk alone as with any city. But I think its a nice easy walk and both your hotel and Frenchmen St. are in good parts of town. You should enjoy Frenchmen st. it has a few other good music spots you can easily check out with-in a block from Snug Harbor also on Frenchmen.
