I am coming to a conference in the FQ during early September. The announced attire is business casual. I also notice that many restaurant listings ask for business casual. In my community, business casual is usually a long sleeve dress shirt, tie, sport coat/blazer, dress slacks, and dress shoes. What concessions are made for heat and humidity?
Business Casual attire?
Now see here in the Providence, Boston area, business casual means nice pants and possibly a collared shirt. A sports jacket occasionally, but not the tie.

Business Casual attire?
CajunWave%26#39;s New Orleans business casual = polo shirt, khakis, shoes that aren%26#39;t sneakers!
I%26#39;m with CajunWave. I attend quite a few conferences in the Deep South and the Southwest. Business Casual is generally accepted as meaning a collared shirt, slacks, and any footwear other than sneakers or sandals. Sport coats/blazers are optional, but most folks don%26#39;t even consider a tie. If you%26#39;re planning to dine in some of the finer restaurants, a sport coat/blazer may come in handy.
