Dauphine Orleans

Has anyone stayed at the Dauphine Orleans? We%26#39;re going to NOLA soon. We are going on the Amtrak train.

Dauphine Orleans

My husband and I and another couple stayed there, but it was pre-Katrina. We were very happy with the hotel. Our room was huge and we had champagne when we arrived...we were given the royal treatment. There had been a mix-up with our reservations and they never said so, but I think that because of that, they upgraded our room, because we only paid around $100 and the room we had sure seemed like a much better room than what you would expect for $100 during a festival weekend. The included breakfast was nice, although it was always very crowded in the breakfast area, and not enough seating. The bar, May Bailey%26#39;s, was nice and I believe that there was a happy hour with free appetizers. We were very pleased with our stay there, but like I said, it was pre-Katrina and I don%26#39;t know how things are now.

Dauphine Orleans

Have stayed there 3 times with good experiences...Nice small pool...Workout area with exercise bikes etc..Continental Breakfast with waffles, pastries, donuts, boiled eggs, fresh fruit..if weather nice can sit by pool for breakfast...They also use to put out coffee, tea and cookies for afternoon tea...May Baileys bar decorated like a bordello with player piano and free appetizers..great location one block from Bourbon St on the corner of Dauphine and Conti Sts..4 very good restaurants within 1/2 block walk: Susan Spicer%26#39;s Bayonna, Chef Erik Mars Louisiana Bistro, Broussards and the Martini Bar Restaurant Bombay Club...24 hour Deja Vue restaurant across street has good Bloody Mary%26#39;s, Omlets etc clientele at Deja Vue eclectic mix...one block the other way on the corner of Burgundy and Conti is the 3 legged Dog also 24 hr bar with burgers etc...Have fun!!

Thanks everyone for your input. After reading other reviews and finding the Dauphine Orleans is having problems with the a/c, I changed to the hotel Monteleone.
