What NO hotel do you think has the nicest pool?
IMHO a nice pool has some shade, comfortable and plentiful lounge chairs , poolside snacks and drinks. and blends in with the ambience of the hotel itself.
while I personally won%26#39;t be spending a lot of time poolside, I know
my wife and son will.
thanks
Hotel poolsWhile visitors have probably spent more time at New Orleans hotel pools than I have, I admit that I love the rooftop pool at the Omni Royal Orleans. Very classy.
Hotel poolsProbably have to be the Omni, Monteleone, and Royal Sonesta for your specifications.
I just returned from a weekend at the Monteleone and ';might'; recommend it, except for the ';plentiful lounge chairs'; part...maybe if you%26#39;re going on weekdays it might be better, but this past weekend it was kind of ugly...they only maybe 20-24 chairs around the pool, which isn%26#39;t a very big pool to begin with. This is a 600-room property, so do the math!
Glad I was just stopping up to check the place out - it looked very nice, but also very crowded...
Le Richelieu has a pleasant little pool and deck area just off the bar. It is small and only has a few chairs, but when we stayed there only one or two other people were making use of it. I don%26#39;t know how many rooms they have, but I believe it%26#39;s a fairly small property. We enjoyed our stay there and the price was reasonable.
To me, the pool in the Audobon Cottages which is also available to the guests of the Hotel Maison de Ville (a couple blocks away) is a little piece of heaven. It is quite small and old (the first in the french quarter, I think, but don%26#39;t quote me on that), but incredibly tranquil with a fountain bubbling away at one end. I would not recommend the Maison de Ville for young children, but the Audobon Cottages may be more appropriate. (?) No poolside food or bev service though. This is not a ';see and be seen'; kind of pool, more of a retreat from the world.
I have only seen the Monteleone rooftop pool - it was pretty nice.
