Must do's for 20somethings, and buffet brunch in the FQ

I%26#39;m taking my nephews (just turned 21, and the other turning 27), and my 21 y/o neice to New Orleans this weekend. We arrive Friday evening and leave Monday afternoon. We are staying at the Royal Sonesta.

I know there will be a lot of partying, but I would like to take the group to a buffet brunch on Sunday. I had the Court of Two Sisters in mind, but I haven%26#39;t read many good things about it on here. Is there a better buffet available in the FQ?

I had done a Voodoo tour many years ago and really enjoyed it. I can%26#39;t remeber what company it was offered through. Are there any that you can recommend? Also, I haven%26#39;t been to the Garden District or any of the other city tours. Would you recommend them?

I%26#39;m sure we will spend most of our time in the quarter, but I%26#39;ve also read about Frenchmans st, Marigny, and Magazine st. Which would be best for people their ages in terms of fun places to be that are affordable. Also, as I%26#39;m sure they will be on a budget, what are the best places close to the hotel for affordable decent food and drinks? Any happy hours or early bird specials?

Thanks, for any help. Sorry this was so lengthy!

The Royal Sonesta is a beautiful hotel, I%26#39;m sure you will enjoy it. Some inexpensive places to eat are Johnny%26#39;s on St. Louis street for breakfast or lunch, Napoleon%26#39;s on St. Louis for muffalettas, Clover Grill on Bourbon any time, Cafe DuMonde for beignets, Margaritaville on Decatur. Pat O%26#39;Brien%26#39;s has decent burgers and they are reasonably priced. For drinks, definitely Pat O%26#39;s piano bar, a hurricane is $9 which sounds very expensive, but, they are very big, and if you don%26#39;t keep the souvenir glass you get $3 refunded so the drink is actually only $6. If they are open-minded they might like Oz. It is a gay bar on Bourbon but a lot of straight people also go there for drinks/dancing. Their drinks are reasonably priced and it is usually easy to get up on the balcony where you have a great view of the action on Bourbon Street. There is a karaoke bar on Bourbon Street but I don%26#39;t know the name of it.

Have fun!

Cat%26#39;s Meow is the karaoke bar I believe in the 700 block of Bourbon.

A large buffet/brunch on Sunday would be either Muriels, Arnauds, or the Rib Room; Brennan%26#39;s also but a bit pricey. Drop into the St. Ann Louisiana vistors center for any kind of brochure imaginable and advice if you can%26#39;t find the brochures at the Sonesta concierge stand. Grayline or Isabelles has good city tours. A unique tour of the garden district is the mule and buggy tour which can also be a bit pricey unless you can fill up the coach and split costs.

The royal sonesta has a champagne brunch on sundays that I liked.

Yes, and since I%26#39;m 22, I definitely recommend the cat%26#39;s meow. and pat o%26#39;s of course!

Twenty somethings will probably enjoy Razoo, especially with 3 for 1 beers before 8 or 9, I think. Bands, Karaoke, and a big patio out back. Rowdy, and loud.

As well as the previously mentioned Pat O%26#39;s, just... because.

I agree with the Frenchmen Street recommendation. Very hip and a different vibe from the rowdy, sometimes trashy, Bourbon Street crowd. Lots of live music and plenty of places to drink! A bar called d.b.a. is especially popular with the 20-somethings.

I have not been, but have heard very good things about the buffett brunch at the Hotel Intercontinental.
