What to do...what to do....

I%26#39;ll be in NO August 19-24 for a conference. I am not sure what the exact schedule will entail, but I imagine it%26#39;ll be an 8-4 thing. I am staying at the Wyndham Riverfront, and I was wondering if you guys could list some places to eat and visit while I%26#39;m in town. Any tours would be great! I am not too picky about food, and my husband is a huge Emril fan, so I figure I should pay tribute to one on his restaurants. My conference is being held at the Hilton Riverfront, so that area is where I%26#39;ll be spending most of my time. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!!

What to do...what to do....

It sounds cheesy, but I loved the Haunted History tour. It%26#39;s not 100% factual but makes for a fun story. Google Haunted History ghost tours. It%26#39;s $20/adult.

What to do...what to do....

Emeril%26#39;s best is Delmonico on St. Charles Ave. Classic Creole

NOLA%26#39;s is his most casual restaurant, it%26#39;s in the quarter on St Louis

Contemporary Creole

Emeril%26#39;s on Tchoupitoulas in Warehouse Dist.

Hilton has Drago%26#39;s - which has the best smoke oyster you%26#39;ll ever find. Bayona, Stella%26#39;s, Irene%26#39;s are my favorites.

As far as things to see doing the day while you%26#39;re busy with the conference your hubby can take the ferry across the river and visit Mardi Gras World, the DDay Museum or a swamp tour,

On your down time, I%26#39;d recommend a steamboat cruise. The buggy rides are usually a hoot although in my experience rarely historically correct. The ghost tour are fairly entertaining too.

my family did the obituary cocktail tour through grayline and really enjoyed it (no free samples though) :)
