Thank you to all who replied to my earlier posting - we have still not decided on a New Orleans hotel. Someone recommended the Holiday Inn - has anyone stayed there and if so what is it like?
We don%26#39;t like small rooms - prefer king size or 2 queen beds - would be grateful for any response as we are booking soon. Flights are sorted just need the hotel!
Thanks again
Which hotel - still undecided
I%26#39;ve been at the two Holiday Inn properties in the Quarter and would definitely not recommend them however I have stayed a number of times at the Holiday Inn Superdome on Loyola St. and its excellent. You can also get larger rooms on the concierge floors which has free continental breakfast and afternoon pastries in a separate area. They have a nice lounge and breakfast/lunch streetcar restaurant. They have regular free shuttles to the French Quarter and pick up also if you wish. They also have hotel pickup for various tours. I%26#39;ve never been disappointed, well, once I was and that was because I left a day early (saturday) and skipped my next night due to the approaching Hurricane Katrina.
Which hotel - still undecided
If the HI%26#39;s are the only thing in your price range then they are OK. I would put them on the bottom of the list for hotels though. You can do much better. My favorites are Royal Sonesta, Omni Royal and W French Quarter. Lots of other good ones around.
I have a room reserved at the Wyndham Riverfront for $99 per night, including breakfast and parking for 9/1 - 9/3 - called Park %26amp; Play - code PKG02. A pretty sweet deal, and the reviews aren%26#39;t bad at all.
