2 weeks till Satchmo Summerfest

2 weeks to go before I fly down to my favorite city for Satchmo Summerfest. Got a great rate of $79 per night (4 nights) for a King bed (Queen sofa pull out bed) private balcony room at the Frenchmen Hotel. The music stages should only be a few blocks away. I had stayed in this room back in 2004. The Frenchmen is a nice small funky hotel right at the beginning of the busiest section of Frenchmen St. at Decatur/Esplanade.

A New Orleans cultural tradition, the second-line parade begins immediately after the jazz mass at St. Augustine Church, travel to Armstrong Park and proceed from Rampart to Esplanade down to the entrance of Satchmo SummerFest at the Old US Mint.
