Emabssy Suites vs Hotel InterContinental?

Which hotel would you stay at and why? Also we are looking at late October Early Nov stay, anything fun happening during that time period? What will the weather be like?

Thanks!

Emabssy Suites vs Hotel InterContinental?

I stayed at the Intercontinental about 2 years ago and thought it was REALLY nice! I have not stayed at the ES in New Orleans but have stayed at others. I would think the main difference would be that you get 2 rooms, plus kitchen facilties at the ES, but with the Intercontinental, you would have only a hotel room (but a very nice one at that!). I%26#39;ve read a few comments on the EB suites down there and it seems as nice as all the other ones around the country. I believe it%26#39;s not exactly in the French Quarter but neither is the HI. However, I know that it%26#39;s an easy walk to the FQ from the HI and you would probably get decent weather in October or November.

Emabssy Suites vs Hotel InterContinental?

The Embassy Suites and the Intercontinental are two completely different types of properties. I%26#39;ve stayed at the Embassy Suites in New Orleans and it%26#39;s just another Embassy Suites. Although I%26#39;ve never stayed at the New Orleans Intercontinental, I have stayed at Intercontinental hotels in other major cities. The Intercontinental properties are, in my opinion, at least a full star rating above the Embassy Suites properties. If the rates are anywhere close to each other, I%26#39;d vote for the Intercontinental without hesitation. The Intercontinentals offer higher qualit rooms and common areas, better service, and nicer amenities.

On the other hand, if you have children with you, the separate living room of the Embassy Suites is a nice feature. You can put the kids on the sleeper sofa, with their own television, while you retire to the bedroom. Embassy Suites also offers free, cooked-to-order breakfasts and free evening receptions (wine, beer, snacks, etc.). It%26#39;s uaually a good bargain for a family.

Halloween...

Why these two hotels as choices? It%26#39;s a curious combination of properties. Neither is in the French Quarter, as has been mentioned, but the InterContinental is certainly closer and, as Rod stated, is nicer.
