I found this on Nola.com this morning:
Tales of the Cocktail, an annual celebration of New Orleans%26#39; culinary and cocktail heritage, kicks off today with an announcement from Absolut Vodka that they%26#39;ve created a new flavor to honor the city.
Absolut New Orleans is a limited edition vodka - think hints of mango and black pepper - that will be available during this weekend%26#39;s Tales events and in stores beginning Aug. 1.
Profits from the sale of Absolut New Orleans will go to five Gulf Coast charities: New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, Tipitina%26#39;s Foundation, the Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation, Hands on Gulf Coast and Volunteer Mobile.
The fifth annual Tales of the Cocktail features discussions of city history and food, as well as drink mixing contests. It is expected to draw atleast 12,000 people. The event runs through Sunday.
........
[Mango and black pepper...what a weird combo!]
Absolut to name Vodka flavor after New Orleans
Flavored vodka. What a waste of good vodka.

I like raspberry vodka...but honestly it all [mostly] tastes the same...mix it with a little redbull and you%26#39;re set
That%26#39;s okay, women are allowed to like flavored vodka. Men, no.
For what it%26#39;s worth, I%26#39;m a guy who really likes Absolut Citron.
mmmm citron and redbull!
Absolut, a lime slice, a beautiful woman and 2 cigars.
Absolute Citron (or Mandarin) and ice. That is THIS woman%26#39;s preferred libation!
I don%26#39;t know about mango and black pepper (kind of gives me the willies), but I%26#39;d be interested to see if the bottle design is interesting, though.
This was also in today%26#39;s print edition of the USA Today.
Christy....a stop at Matassa%26#39;s or A %26amp; P for a bottle of Mandrin Absolut is always the first thing on my agenda.
Mango and Black Pepper...are we supposed to put it over a fruit dessert or put it into a gumbo? I think I%26#39;ll pass on this one.
