Does anyone have any info on the Avenue Plaza Resort %26amp; Spa? Is it up and operational? What amenities are missing still? How is the area post Katrina?

We%26#39;ve stayed there twice. The first time, I thought we had made a mistake. The second time, I knew we had made a mistake. There are better places for the same of less money.

Anyone stay at the Avenue Plaza Resort %26amp; Spa recently? We%26#39;re possibly looking at staying here late October / early November. We%26#39;ve not been to New Orleans before, this is a good time for my work schedule, however it there%26#39;s a better time I may rearrange my schedule, any advice? It will be just myself and adult daughter.

They are most definitely open and can even arrange for ghost tours in the property behind their hotel.
The problem with the avenue plaza is its location in the 2100 block of St. Charles and the streetcar still only goes to Lee Circle about the 900 block so its either cabs or slow running busses. There are so many fine places located within the French Quarter.
