A few different swamp tours out there! Input on the most worthwhile would be appreciated, thanks.

It depends upon how much time you want to spend also...some go down to the atchefala swamp, some go up past Hammond, and some are just out of new orleans, and some to Pearl River. I%26#39;ve been on all of them and find the best to be for information and sights the Honey Island Swamp Tour and the best into a big swamp area to be CajunJacks out of Patterson. It would be Dr. Wagners Honey Island Swamp Tour.

I%26#39;m also interested in doing a swamp tour while we are there. We are only there for a weekend, so I don%26#39;t want to spend all day on it. Which ones are closest to New Orleans? Also, do they have the same things to see, like alligators, etc. as the tours further away?

OK..pressed for time...it would be the CajunPride tour just out of New Orleans and they have hotel pickup...they used to hang a pole off the side with chicken on it to make some %26#39;regulars%26#39; (gators) jump for it. And they usually have a baby gator to show around to everyone. Its a pretty good tour although I%26#39;m against the feeding of the chicken to the gators to get them near the boat.

Think we will go for Honey Island on our way east to beach. Thanks for all the info...btw, we did a small air boat tour of swamps last November...was alot of fun but it was very noisy and we really didn%26#39;t see alot of wildlife (noisy and wildlife aren%26#39;t a good combo!).
