Calloway Inn and Suites

Does anybody know anything about this hotel? We are considering on staying here with a kids baseball team. Any other suggestions. We want to be as close to Denham Springs as possible.

I hope my reply is not too late. This place is so bad that Hurricane Katrina evacuees even avoided.

Unfortunately it was thanks for replying anyway. I did write a review of it though and hopefully other people will avoid it.

This incident was far too disconcerting not to bring it to the attention of everyone. My dear friend%26#39;s son was married in Baton Rouge two weeks ago at a lovely place called the Oak Lodge. The entire day was a dream which unfortunately turned into a nightmare. Knowing she and her granddaughter (who lives with her) would be far too tired after all the partying to drive back home to Metairie, Mary, like most guests who had driven some distance, got a room for the night at a place called The Callaway Inn. After the reception, Mary and her sister and granddaughter arrived at their room about midnight only to find the carpet soaked and the air conditioning not working. Upon reporting this to the desk, she was told they would come up and try to dry out the carpet, but the air would have to wait until the next morning. Of course this was unsatisfactory, and they requested another room for the night. They were assigned another room and figured all would be well. There was no way they could imagine what would happen next! When they got into the room, Mary went into the bathroom to change into her nightclothes and told her ten year old granddaughter to turn down the bed. What Mary heard next was the child screaming in horror. Mary threw open the bathroom door to see her granddaughter shrieking and pointing at the bedclothes which were completely COVERED in blood. It was like a scene from The Godfather minus the horse%26#39;s head! By this time the sister had also arrived in the room and began screaming too. Now here is what is worse! They grabbed their belongings, went downstairs and demanded their credit card information back, intending to leave and drive back to Metairie immediately. The desk person ARGUED about giving them their credit card information, said they would clean the room!! At this point the sister JUMPED over the counter, grabbed the night person by the collar and said they would call the police if they did not comply. They drove back home exhausted and having had a terrible ending to what should have been a beautiful occasion. Stay away from The Callaway Inn, you have been forewarned. I can only imagine what else has gone on in this place or the kind of housekeeping that has NOT gone on.
