I going to New Orleans. I wanted go fishing. Somebody can tell me about the best spot, deal, offers or something.
Thanks
Fishing in New OrleansNew Orleans is surrounded by brackish water, and there are tons of guides who can take you fishing for speckled trout and redfish, on inshore trip. If you have the time and inclination you can go to Venice for both inshore and offshore trips. Venice is about 1.5 hours south of N.O. at the mouth of the Mississippi River. It%26#39;s probably some of the best fishing on the planet, but you have to watch the weather. Expect to pay $400 to $600 for a guided inshore trip, and $1000-$1500 for offshore, and bring an ice chest a you will go home with a bunch of fillets.
The La Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries has a list of guides on its website, as does the main local sport magazine, Louisiana Sportsman. You should easily find someone to take you, and find e-mailsto discuss the details.
Fishing in New OrleansMy husband went in April with www.neworleansfishintours.com
and had a great time. It was $225 per person but that includes out of state fishing license, breakfast, lunch and drinks.
They also clean and package any fish that you catch. Its 6-7 hours of fishing time.

I had some difficulty believing the rate quoted by CMK, so I went to their web site to check it out. Granted, the $225 rate is per person for two people, but the $300 rate for one person is still dirt cheap, considering the services provided and the duration of the trip. You can%26#39;t get guided trips in the Lake Charles area for those low prices.
Lafitte is about 45 minutes by car from downtown New Orleans. Their $20 charge for round-trip transportation is well worth it.
Hi RodinLouisiana, yes it was a great deal for what it provided. I had researched some and they were cheaper but offered more, lol. My husband did go with a friend and they were the only 2 on the boat with a guide. Hubby is a fishing freak and pretty much has a tournament every weekend here at home he goes to. So this was an awesome experience for him. Also they will package the fish you caught but you will need a cooler if you want to take them with you. The B%26amp;B we stayed at provided us with their grill(and side dishes) so hubby ended up cooking the fish for everyone.
I believe though that the fishing company will cook it there but for a small fee.

$300 for one is a great deal. I have fished out of Lafitte with Phil Robichaux, and it was around $450-500, but we had three guys plus the guide. Even nicer is getting the license thrown in. La encourages use of charter captains, with a 3 day out of state charter license for $5. If you just want to fish w/o a charter, a 1 day out of state saltwater license is $20, while a 4 day is $60(basic + saltH2O).
Saltwater action is ON during the summer, and it is easy to catch limits of trout and reds out of Lafitte, so give it a shot, and don%26#39;t forget the icechect for the fillets.
Celena, did you and your husband stay at the Victoria Inn in Lafitte? We%26#39;ve stayed there a couple of times, and Roy and Dale were great hosts. Dale even cooked me a special breakfast one morning when I told her that I was allergic to the crawfish in the omlet she was serving.
RodinLouisiana, No we stayed at Coccinelle B%26amp;B on Decatur Street. Actually for our trip in October I had looked at Victoria Inn because it was so nice and right at the waters edge. We decided to stay again at the Coccinelle because of its location and the hosts Reg and Ron pampered us so badly that we are spoiled now, lol.Sounds like the Victoria Inn did the same for you!
I have never stayed at a place twice with all our vacations or getaways until now. Although I have saved VI in my faves because it seemed to be a place we would enjoy staying at.
