Hilton on St. Charles...Looking for Some Input

I am cashing in some Hilton points and taking a long weekend in NOLA at the end of September (all trip money is officially dedicated to food and boutique shopping). I like the look of the newly opened Hilton on St. Charles but am having a difficult time finding information about it.

My hotel options are Hilton Garden (Gravier), Hampton Inn (Carondolet), and the Hilton (333 St. Charles). They all seem to offer pretty much the same walking distance to the FQ (of course, ';seem'; is the operative word here). I like the building the Hilton is in; however, is St. Charles a safe-ish walk around 1 or 2 am(there will be 2 or 4 of us at any one time)? I like a posh bed and will require no “service” aside from a quick check-in and check-out.

Should I go with the Hilton or am I being lulled in by an architectural affinity? If not the Hilton, should I go Hampton or Hilton Garden?

Thanks!

That Hilton is newly opened. It was the Hotel Monaco and it%26#39;s a wonderful bldg. I%26#39;d definitely stay there.

Check out John Besh%26#39;s new restaurant, Luke. It%26#39;s attached to the hotel in the space formerly occupied by Cobalt.

Agreed!

If ';Luke'; comes close to ';August';, I may just spend the weekend holed up in the Hilton indulging in John Besh%26#39;s genius!
