Monteleone or Maison Dupuy Hotel

Would appreciate anyone%26#39;s advice who has stayed at both of these hotels. We are going for 2 nights at the end of August. We have a balcony room reserved at the Maison but can get a Superior King room at the Monteleone for the same price. Leaning toward the Maison for the balcony but the Monteleone looks beautiful. Having a hard time deciding! Thanks for your advice!

Monteleone or Maison Dupuy Hotel

I have stayed at the Maison. It was a nice hotel but it is a couple of blocks from Bourbon Street. I also had a Balcony room that faced the inner courtyard and overlooked the pool. I don%26#39;t recall if the Maison had street facing balconies. If it did there wouldn%26#39;t have been much to see. While visiting NO last year we took a look at the Monteleone. It was beautiful inside.

That said my partner and I will also be in NO the end of August and have decided to stay at the Monteleone.

Read some of the posts about both hotels and you will see that the Monteleone is the place to stay.

Monteleone or Maison Dupuy Hotel

I%26#39;ve been at both and its true a balcony room at the Maison Dupuy is no big deal and it is a couple blocks north of Bourbon St. They have a nice pool and courtyard and super comfy chairs in their lounge but I have a much better comfort zone for the Monteleone. The Carousel Lounge, pool, observation area, grayline has a counter right in the hotel, and its super close to Mr. B%26#39;s. Personally its not a big decision for me to choose the Monteleone.

I would also choose the Monteleone. August is brutal in New Orleans and you won%26#39;t enjoy a balcony much...you%26#39;ll be racing to find air conditioning! :-)

I couldn%26#39;t agree more - you won%26#39;t be spending much if any time on that balcony. The Monteleone is such a beautiful and historic hotel, close enough to the action but in a (semi) quiet area near all the shops on Royal Street. Don%26#39;t miss the Carosel Bar attached to the lobby - it rotates and is great people-watching!
