Honeymoon

My fiancee and I are planning our honeymoon in November. We%26#39;re taking an RV to multiple cities, including NO. However, we plan on staying in a hotel for this leg of our trip. Can someone give us names of hotels that are close to the French Quarter, but where we can park the RV during our stay? Thanks so much!!

Le Richelieu is in a quiet section of the French Quarter and they have free, walled and guarded parking. I believe their lot is large enough to handle an RV. I suggest that you phone them and ask.

There%26#39;s a new RV park near the Quarter at Basin/St Louis streets. It%26#39;s part of that Basin Street Station welcome center, I think. I believe it%26#39;s for people who want to STAY in their RVs but something to keep in mind in case you can%26#39;t find a hotel that will take the RV. I personally think it may be hard to find a place since RVs can%26#39;t fit in many FQ garages or lots!

What a neat idea for a honeymoon! I prefer road trips to flying, so that would be right up my alley. I agree with Rodin%26#39;s suggestion of LeRichelieu. I have stayed there several times, it is a very nice older hotel and the free parking is always a plus. All of their rooms either have access to a wrap-around balcony or overlook the pool...we have always had a balcony room and it%26#39;s fun to walk out on the balcony and look down on the street, or have your breakfast on the balcony, etc. The location is in the quiet part of the French Quarter, but still an easy walk to everything. We sometimes pay to park our vehicle in a pay parking lot if we are staying at a hotel that doesn%26#39;t have parking, but I always feel better about having the car close by where we can check on it occasionally, like at LeRichelieu.

I think at this point your only chance for the RV parking is the Basin Street Welcome center area that is close to the French Quarter as was suggested previously.

The RV park is across from the Basin St. Tourist information area and is at 504-586-3000. Check with them as to how they can help you out. Its so close to the Basin Street Tourist Information building/museum which is still a work in progress that you could get a lot of good information there. Its not far from the Prince Conti or St. Marie or Place d%26#39;Armes or Monteleone etc. I hope you have some luck.

I have seen RV%26#39;s parked in the parking lots off of Decatur near the Brewery in the French Quarter. there is a parking lot on Canal near the Casino across from the Quarter that may allow RV%26#39;s. There are alot of possibilities.
