Halloween balls?

I was looking up events at frommers.com and this was mentioned:

The New Orleans Arena: The Costume Dance Extravaganza and Halftime Show saturday before halloween

It says it%26#39;s a pretty big event but I can%26#39;t find any other info about it. Has anyone here ever been to it, and if so, is it worth going?

Also, I found a vampire lestat costume ball that friday at the howling wolf. Anyone ever go to that?

Thanks guys

Halloween balls?

I don%26#39;t know anything about the vampire ball. I assume it%26#39;s a continuation of the old Anne Rice parties which were held for many years.

The Arena party was part of Halloween in New Orleans, a benefit for the Project Lazarus AIDS hospice. It%26#39;s a predominantly gay crowd although I%26#39;m sure anyone is welcome to pay and attend. The website is www.halloweenneworleans.com and the Saturday costume ball is probably the largest Halloween-themed event in the city.

There are several smaller events, so keep checking online for updates!

Halloween balls?

Tanya, you popped into my head today. How weird!

Are you still thinking about moving down?

Yes and I can not wait! :-)

I%26#39;m sure you know this, but that%26#39;s also the weekend for Voodoo Fest. I was going to go down but I%26#39;m heading down the weekend prior cuz of the crowds...

Wow I had no idea about either one of those events! They sound fun though!

Oh, funny, I joined the Vampire Lastat ';fan club'; many, many years ago, and went to the first constume ball. As I can recall, there was a large variety of people there - very eclectic and lots of fun (I%26#39;m pretty conservative/traditional, though love to mix and mingle with all types, and especially love a good costume party).. I%26#39;m amazed that they are still having this function, though may have to check it out!
