Hotel for two weekend party animals

Hey guys I need your opinion on some hotels. My best friend is going to come with me for a weekend in October/November to see ';why I love it there so much'; and I was trying to think of a hotel with charm in a good location (french quarter, hopefully) that is very reasonable (under $140 a night). All we%26#39;ll need is two beds and it doesn%26#39;t have to be super nice or romantic, obviously. I was thinking Place D%26#39;arms or Hotel St Marie, but I am open to any options, including B%26amp;B%26#39;s. Thank again :)

The Place D%26#39;Armes and the Hotel St Marie are the two that actually popped into my head for you. I think that the former has received better reviews as of late.

You can%26#39;t go wrong with either of those hotels or even their third sister hotel..Prince Conti. Great locations.

If we do the Place D%26#39;arms, should we get an interior room? Are they really tiny? I think we%26#39;d be out most of the time but I don%26#39;t want to come back to a room that%26#39;s the size of a closet.

Madison%26#39;s been my best friend since we were in third grade and I moved across the street from her, and we haven%26#39;t been on vacation together since we were in high school, so I am so excited. She%26#39;s coming over my house on Wednesday to hear ';why she should move there with me';, so I think this little weekend trip would be so fun.

Some of the interior rooms are small especially the bathrooms but thats not the case in all instances. A room overlooking the courtyard in November should be in the price range and also keep in mind they have one of the lowest parking rates in the Quarter and sometimes will waive the fee.

Thank yank, I%26#39;ve never taken a car down there, so we don%26#39;t have to worry about parking.

Any suggestions on cheap airfare? You guys mention a site on here sometimes, but I can%26#39;t think of it. Anyways, Madison spends all her money on cigarettes so she%26#39;s perpetually broke, so I%26#39;ve got to find some airline deals

Tanya, I would suggest the Hotel St. Marie but it depends on the rates. Just get on their site and check it out. With the St. Marie you are guarenteed a balcony room if you so do choose which is why we chose them over the Place D%26#39;arms.

tanya On airfares I checkout travelocity, expedia, orbitz, cheaptickets, and I belong to bestfares travel so I usually find the best fare with them as they deal with consolidators.

Great! I just spoke with someone from Pat O%26#39;brien%26#39;s (I lost a gift certificate for $50 I could bring with me) and he mentioned I should bring Madison down for the voo doo music fest so we may change the dates for the end of October. So since it%26#39;s around halloween he said there are insane costumes. I can finally bust out my elizabeth taylor get up ;)

Sidestep.com will give you great comparision rates..be aware that some of the interior rooms at the Place D%26#39;Armes have no windows..The Hotel St Marie is one of my favorites for location and comfort, only 1/2 block off Bourbon on Toulouse but very quiet..owned by same group that owns the Prince Conti and Place D%26#39;Armes...That will be a very busy fun week in NOLA so expect higher hotel rates...Maybe you can convince your friend to move with you!

Mac, I would love it if they moved with me!

I just got off the phone with the Place D%26#39;arms and I reserved two courtyard double rooms next to each other for Nov 2-5. I apparantly never mentioned to Ryan I was planning on this trip and he asked to come along as well, with possibly a few of his friends, so we could have a big old group down there. I%26#39;m hoping to convert them all into NO Lovers and have them all spend their tourist dollars.

Each room is going to be $471.42 total including taxes, so not a bad deal at all. If you split it up between 4 people it%26#39;s $117.86 each, so they could all definitely swing it.

I%26#39;m thinking for dinner the three days:

1. Coop%26#39;s

2. Acme Oyster House

3. Mr. B%26#39;s (for a ';nicer'; dinner, never been)

and I%26#39;m going to try Croissant D%26#39;Or for breakfast one of the days and lunch wherever we fit it, maybe try a muffaletta
