We will be there the first week of September and plan to do a swamp tour. With the heat/humidity...is this a particularly buggy time? Thanks
how buggy in early September?
By ';buggy'; you mean mosquitoes? If so then yes, but primarily during dusk and evening hours. Bring your OFF spray with you for sure. If you mean other kinds of bugs, those are in Nola 365 days a year! :)

It might not be %26#39;buggy%26#39; depending upon the swamp tour you take but get a bug spray with deet in it. It always a good precaution to use some type of spray if you think you will be in an area of mosquitoes etc.
I was thinking about the Honey Island Swamp Tour as I have read good things about it in this forum. I am also reading about the Houma area (in my quest to know all things swamp).
Sounds like we should definitely go for a morning tour (with good mosquito spray regardless). Any comments about the Houma area?
ONly one in that area I%26#39;ve been on is CajunJacks out of Patterson into the Atchefalaya which was excellent and definitely bug spray is necesary. And Honey Island is also very much in need of spray. That area and lakefront in the parish have not had as much mosquitoe control going on as pre Katrina and spray is a must.
