How is the location of La Maison Marigny B&B?

Hi, we stayed at Coccinelle B%26amp;B located on Decatur Street and found it very convenient. I like to try different places and wondered what everyone thought of this B%26amp;B? We are thinking about going back in October:)

Thanks,

Celena

Bourbon and Esplanade...about the same location as Coccinelle but on Bourbon. Good location!

How is the location of La Maison Marigny B%26amp;B?

La Maison Marigny recently regained its ranking as the #1 rated Tripadvisor B%26amp;B in New Oreans. The location is great, the accommodations are luxurious, and John Ramsey is the consummate host.

We stayed at La Maison Marigny in May and enjoyed our stay. If you don%26#39;t mind some walking it%26#39;s a good location. Two or three blocks to the Frenchmen clubs and eaterys. We walked all over the FQ from the B%26amp;B. It is about 5 blocks to the River and streetcar and the bus is on Esplanade.

Thanks everyone! The last 2 times we have gone(October and April) we have stayed at B%26amp;B%26#39;s and enjoyed it very much. The first was Elysian Fields Inn which was lovely but we wanted a little closer to the FQ. The next time we stayed at Coccinelle which we loved and felt so pampered.

Do any of you recommend any hotels that give service along the same lines? We walked by Cornstalk Hotel on our last visit and it caught our eye(great location also) but the reviews are mixed.

TY,

Celena

I am always putting up the Place D%26#39;armes for its excellent staff and a location that can%26#39;t be beat. Just a little over a block from Bourbon St. and 1/2 block from Jackson Square. It has a nice courtyard and has a continental breakfast in its european style cafe. Its close to Cafe Du%26#39;monde or the Clover Grill or Coffee Pot for breakfasts. Its just that of all the properties we have been at throughout the quarter we like this the best and have stayed there 18-19 or more times.

Thanks Cajunyank, this is the reason I love these forums! We just got back from our family vacation and I have not had a chance to read through the New Olreans recent posts, so I appreciate the info. I welcome any advice and we are open to any suggestions. I have emailed Place d%26#39;Armes for their rates and availability for October 25-30.

BTW have any of you heard of the B%26amp;B Maison Perrier? It is located in an area we have not visited yet, 2.5 blocks from the St. Charles streetcar(hopefully operational by the end of summer) but has a bus route for a 1.25 per ride. Also located 4 blocks from Magazine Street. The B%26amp;B looks beautiful but not sure if we would like the area since we are unfamiliar with it.

The Uptown area is very nice. It may be a good choice depending on what you want to do while in New Orleans. I usually recommend that folks stay in the French Quarter area and then visit the Garden District, City Park, Algiers Point and other areas as quick hops during the day. The French Quarter is pretty central. However, if you want to be in a quiet area most of the time and just visit the Quarter occasionally, then other areas are good choices.

Good luck on getting a response from Place %26#39;d Armes. Based on the positive reviews on this forum and their great location, I have wanted to stay with them, and had e-mailed them to ask a question regarding rollaways, how many people can be accommodated in a room, or if we could get adjoining rooms. I have e-mailed them twice within the last month, no response to either e-mail, and I even asked them on the second e-mail to please let me know even if they could not accommodate my family. I had hoped to stay there when we visit in December, but couldn%26#39;t just make an on-line reservation due to having to ask about how many could be in a room, etc. Hopefully this is just a fluke and not an indication of their customer service, although I sure think that a month if long enough to wait for a reply from them. I have e-mailed many other places, and the other places, even if they were unable to accommodate us, have at least responded. I guess I could call, but I don%26#39;t understand why they have a %26#39;contact us%26#39; link if they don%26#39;t respond to their e-mails.

Hopefully you will have better luck getting a reply from them than I have!

i would definatley recommend la maison marigny to stay.

john makes you feel at home and cant do enough for you.

it is also very close to the hustle and bustle of bourbon st but where its located is very quiet.

dont hesitate go and find out how good this b%26amp;b really is.

if you want to stay at the place d%26#39;arms you gotta call them to do the booking or find room availability ASAP. They fill up pretty fast
