I booked a room at the W for this weekend. Can someone tell what is nearby? Like good bars and restaurants. I know there is a casino close. Thanx.

Okay, I%26#39;ll quickly admit that I really don%26#39;t care for that particular W Hotel. In fact, I don%26#39;t like either one in New Orleans as they aren%26#39;t nearly as nice as their brethren in other cities. However, I will admit that the W on Poydras is well-located across from Harrah%26#39;s and many bars/restaurants. Parking is somewhat expensive but you can save $ by parking at Harrahs or in a surface lot nearby.

Parking is free for 24 hours at Harrah%26#39;s if you gamble on one machine for 30 minutes and they do have 1 cent machines.

What nice restaurants are in walking distance?

I%26#39;m unsure what you mean by ';walking distance'; but I%26#39;d say there are literally dozens of great restaurants within 10-12 blocks in any direction. Very close to the hotel are Restaurant August, the Grill Room at the Windsor Court, Riche%26#39; at Harrah%26#39;s, Luke, Rio Mar, Bon Ton, and many others.
