OK so me and a couple of my friends are going to NO this weekend, its my 1st time there so I have no idea where to go. We are staying at the W hotel (not the one on the french qtr) the other one thats 3 blocks away, has a pool, a club etc.... by the way HOW IS THE CLUB AT THE W? is it as popular as other W bars around the country?
Anyway, is K-Pauls a good place to have dinner? if so, what%26#39;s recommended as the ';upscale'; bars/clubs and also the not so upscale but MUST do%26#39;s!
we like to party, take girls out etc etc... IDEAS?!?!!
anyone staying there this wknd BTW?
in NOLA this weekend!! at the W..... HELP!!!
i talked to a few people and they said your best bet for nice clubs/bars is the hotel bars... bourbon is like 6th street here in austin..
so hang at your hotel..the W... or the Ritz Carlton... or any nice hotel in the French Quarter
I actually think the W is probably the classiest

You might enjoy The Cat%26#39;s Meow at 701Bourbon and if you are walking from Canal St. you will probably have done some partying by the time you get there. http://www.catsmeow-neworleans.com/ The Swizzle Stick Bar in the Loew%26#39;s Hotel at 300 Poydras gets great reviews. ( I haven%26#39;t been there myself.) You%26#39;re also very close to Harrah%26#39;s Casino (8 Canal St)
Look for a copy of Gambit a weekly entertainment newspaper when you get there. Here%26#39;s the music listing page from the online version …bestofneworleans.com/gyrobase/MusicEvents
Have a great time!!
Check out the W in the French Quarter for a drink in their courtyard. Great place to socialize with buddies and enjoy a drink. Might not be many people there though as it can be hit or miss. Carousel Bar in the Monteleone is great too. If you guys like to drink wine then the Grapevine on Orleans is a great place to have a drink. Can%26#39;t forget Napoleon House for a Pimm%26#39;s Cup, too. You won%26#39;t be lacking for places to party that%26#39;s for certain. Oh, the little pirate bar off Pirate%26#39;s Alley is kind of cool. They serve Absinthe if you ever wanted to try it.
Also remember that it is summer here and it%26#39;s the low season. None of the bars will be hopping compared to, say, October. Just keep your expectations in line and you%26#39;ll be happier. :-)
The W is by no means ';classier'; than the Ritz Carlton. They are very different animals. The W chain is ';trendy'; (think Pottery Barn) while the Ritz is upscale (think Saks).
The bars at the International House Hotel, Loews and Monteleone (the fun Carousel bar) may be worth a look too.
I agree with Cajunwave - and of course I%26#39;ll put in my usual plug for the Monteleone and the Carousel Bar! I think the W bar is nice, but I would definitely stop by the Ritz, too - they have live music and it%26#39;s a good place to escape the riff-raff, LOL!
