OK so me and a couple of my friends are going to NO this weekend, its my 1st time there so I have no idea where to go. We are staying at the W hotel (not the one on the french qtr) the other one thats 3 blocks away, has a pool, a club etc.... by the way HOW IS THE CLUB AT THE W? is it as popular as other W bars around the country?
Anyway, is K-Pauls a good place to have dinner? if so, what%26#39;s recommended as the ';upscale'; bars/clubs and also the not so upscale but MUST do%26#39;s!
we like to party, take girls out etc etc... IDEAS?!?!!
In NOLA this weekend!!!!! places to party?
just go to bourbon street, there are tons of bars and you can drink on the street.
Pat O%26#39;brien%26#39;s is fun and I%26#39;ve never tried to meet guys down there, but I guess if I was going to I would just go to Pat O%26#39;s since there are tons of people down there.
Speaking of which, I%26#39;m going down in October, I hope there are cute guys with southern accents to flirt with!

Whiskey Blue at the W is a fun bar. I don%26#39;t think it has the same hip quotient as the other W bars nationwide but I think you%26#39;ll have a good time. Across the street is Swizzle Stick at the Loews Hotel, the Gordon Biersch brewpub, etc.
Hi, I%26#39;m local.
At some point venture out of the FQ area... it%26#39;s easy to get a cab %26amp; would recommend it whenever walking around at night (crime).
Definitely go to the Delachaise on Saint Charles for drinks, it has upscale alcohol %26amp; wine, definitely happening, great friendly crowd but isn%26#39;t terribly expensive, has good tapas too, i think they serve food until 1am. Lot%26#39;s of locals %26amp; great music playing (not live). After take a cab up to the maple leaf to see some local music. Maple Leaf is grungy old bar with a lot of history. To see who%26#39;s playing go to www.offbeat.com.
The W bar isn%26#39;t really happening. Mainly business people in town %26amp; the drinks are NY prices. I%26#39;d stay away from hotel bars.
Best food near your hotel is Restaurant August or Herbsaint in the CBD (central biz dist). Also, for local Cajun food upscale go to Coshon. I personally wouldn%26#39;t go to K Pauls, in the quarter the best restaurant is Stella but it%26#39;s expensive. Or my favorite thing to do is have apps at the bar at Emerils, also in the CBD. Also, next to the Casino is Riche which has good food %26amp; a really cool interior, you can also sit ouside %26amp; they have a lively popular bar with live jazz.
You can always hit Bourbon but it%26#39;s not something that really represents NO... I wouldn%26#39;t spend a lot of time there!
The Marigny, on the far east side of the FQ has a great little street with a bunch of bars %26amp; restaurants. Go to DBA or any of the bars on the street, some of which will have live music.
Have a great time!
I realize this all opinion but K-Paul%26#39;s is far superior to Cochon, in my opinion. I%26#39;ve been very disappointed in Cochon lately.
Remember if you do go to KPauls...get your reservations ahead...maybe call the day prior...I called at 4PM for that evening and it was completely sold out for all times.
