New Orleans in September

Planning on heading to NOLA in September for a party weekend. I have heard that Burbon Street is not what it use to be. Is this true.? Please let me know your experience the past couple of months on the weekends.

No.

I have a feeling Boubon Street will be exactly what you are hoping for, based on your blog. There are still plenty of packed bars of all types, from really good music acts to live DJs and foot long colored drinks that no local in history has tasted. (Okay, that may be an exageration, though I don%26#39;t personally know anyone who has tried them.) The weather will be warm, the colleges are back in session, it%26#39;s a good month for conventions - thus, there will be lots of people out having a good time.

Sure, crowds are down a bit. They vary throughout the year anyway and you never know when you may hit a slow night. I wouldn%26#39;t worry about it. There%26#39;s still fun to be had!

Bourbon Street is just fine.

Do you want music: Snug Harbor is great. Try the Maple Leaf in uptown, especially on Tuesday nights. Grab a copy of OFFBEAT at any of the hotels downtown and pick out a new favorite spot every night.

Enjoy the mystique of the street, it has something for everyone, that HAS NOT changed.
