We are driving from New Orleans to Nashville on our trip to the US in September. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some nice places to stay and stop on the way......apart from Memphis.....
We are travelling from Australia so are totally new to this area....
New Orleans to Nashville
I wouldn%26#39;t even bother to go through Memphis. I-55 is, at best, a tedious drive. I suggest that you consider the Natchez Trace, which runs from Natchez, MS to Nashville, TN.

I second Natchez Trace. Beautiful. If you have time stop in Natchez. Beautiful homes. We took some nice pictures of the Mighty Mississippi.
thanks for your help
If you go thru Natchez, don%26#39;t miss Monmouth Plantation.

we%26#39;ve been several times and it%26#39;s always wonderful.
Jackson,Ms has couple really nice museums.
if you completely avoid Memphis and go down I-65 Huntsville has a neat NASA Museum, Birmingham is great try Roses %26amp; Lace B %26amp; B. eat at Crazy Cajuns%26#39; Boiling Pot or Little Savannah Restaurant
Monmouth was remarkable. If you have the time, plan to have dinner there. We got to eat at the large dining room table. What a great experience. They have overnight accomodations. However, we lodged at The Burn, a very nice B%26amp;B on Union.
