You tell me please...

My wife and my 21 YO Son plan to visit next August 2008 / 2 weeks

We want to make it a music filled experience we love R %26amp; B / Cajun / Rock / Country / anything as long as its good

SO is it New Orleans for 7 nights or do we go ffurther thru Louisiana for some real Cajun etc.

I don%26#39;t really want to be the 10 millionth brit at the same old places. What about Baton Rouge for another stop over ???

All and any assistance very appreciated.

The answer also depends on a few factors. How much driving do you want to do, as well as who%26#39;s in town while you are there.

No sense driving to Lafayette for Cajun if a band or two will be in NO while you are there.

Also check the club websites.

But offbeat is your best bet for listings.

The bestofneworleans.com is another great site for the New Orleans music scene. Definitely check out the Rock%26#39;nBowl on Thursday for Zydeco night. And there is no experience like walking down Bourbon St. listening to the music coming out of club after club. Not to mention, the most interesting people watching you will most likely ever encounter. Btw, I%26#39;m quite a fan of a particular musician from your area whom I recently saw in New Orleans.

If music is your primary interest on the trip you might want to think about a stop over in Chicago, lots of great blues clubs. Definitely check out Rock and Bowl while you are in NO. Tipitinas is another long time music venue. Have fun!
