We have a group of around 25-30 coming to NO for a bachelor party - probb staying 3 nights. Not happening for 9 months to a year so plenty of time to arrange.
We were hoping to get either one or two big houses that could sleep all of us or to take over a small hotel/hostel so that we had it to ourselves. Would also like to be in or within walking distance of the French Quarter.
Any recommendations?
Large group want to hire house nr French quarter for w/e
You can%26#39;t rent houses or condos in New Orleans for less than 30 days, or 60 days in the Quarter. You%26#39;d definitely need to follow up on ';taking over'; a small hotel or several of them.

Thanks.
In relation to hotels that would be suitable for a large group can you recommend any?. cost is not so important, but it would need to be somewhere with a relaxed management.
last time i was in town I stayed at the French Quarter Courtyard Hotel and that sort of place would be ideal - It would however be nice to try somewhere different - maybe closer to Bourbon St.
Thanks
I would say start checking on hjere and other sites for the smaller ';guest houses'; and boutique hotels. SOme people make their reservations way in advance. But I would think if a property has a guarantee of being full or almost, and get a deposit, they should be willing to hold the number of rooms you want
Most B%26amp;B%26#39;s and guest houses don%26#39;t have that many rooms, although some are managed by the same company and have several buildings around the same street block and intersection.
Or, boutique hotels, like the three-place chain that owns Prince Conti, or the Place D%26#39;Armes, etc. Or, one floor to yourself of a medium to large hotel. (Although I wouldn%26#39;t want to be staying at the same place at that time :) I had a room almost to myself on the ';smoking floor'; of a small hotel this spring, 8 days wrapped around a weekend. The two weekend eve%26#39;s a wedding party took over the floor. But they were thankfully gone by Sunday.
You might want to see about the Hotel Villa Convento, which is a small, family-owned hotel on Ursulines Street. It is in a quiet part of the French Quarter but still a very easy five minute walk to Bourbon Street. I think that they only have about 25 rooms so you might be able to get a whole wing of rooms to yourselves. It isn%26#39;t a fancy place, no pool, but it is very ';New Orleans'; and the location is good. The family that runs it is very congenial and every time I have stayed there, the rates have been very reasonable.
Please do not promote ILLEGAL rentals. Its take money away from all the establishments that play by the rules.

Split up. :)
Seriously, I hope you can prove me wrong, but if I%26#39;m a property owner I%26#39;m thinking I want to avoid renting out my whole property to 25-30 guys coming into town for a bachelor party.
I know, YOUR group is going to be well-behaved, semi-sober, and clean, and you%26#39;ll leave the property in exactly the same condition as you found it in. It%26#39;s those OTHER groups in town for a bachelor party that cause the problems. :)
Hey, Cajunyank, lighten up. The OP is not looking for anything illegal. Hesimply asked about rentals for 3 days for a large party. Subsequent posters gave some ideas.
curmongeon..if you followed the thread I was responding to the previous post which if you notice has been removed. We very much need tourism and those establishments that have been offering under licensed legal situations need the visitors in many cases to stay afloat with tourism down.
TokyoPartyboy. You might try the French Market Inn as they have 7 buildings of rooms right on Decatur or the W on Royal as they cater to a young or party group quite a bit and don%26#39;t shut down after parties in the courtyard late at night.
Maison de Ville has the Audobon Cottage complex which has several cottages. I don%26#39;t know for sure how many people they would accomodate, but they are charming. If I recall, their website is:
www.maisondeville.com
It shows the accomodations and their rates, I think.
