Yes, that building I believe you are referring to is Sci-Port. It%26#39;s a really neat place and they have also given a face lift to some of the area surrounding it as well. There is also Chimp Haven in Frierson I believe which is suppposed to be really cool.

Sci-port is a must for kids of all ages! I haven%26#39;t been since they added on, but I%26#39;m sure it%26#39;s even better than before. They have all kinds of hands-on science exhibits, along with an IMAX theatre.

You didn%26#39;t mention when you%26#39;ll be there or how old your kids are, but mine are eight and twelve and get a huge kick out of eating at the casinos (they can%26#39;t go inside the casino itself, but they still think they%26#39;re way cool for being at the casino). Also, check out the CenturyTel Center website (sorry, but I can%26#39;t think of it offhand) as they have a lot of things like the Cheetah Girls, High School Musical, Blue Man Group and Disney on Ice coming soon.

Oh- don%26#39;t forget about the new Boardwalk area with Build-A Bear Workshop and lots of outlet stores, plus Bass Pro Shop.

Also, occasionally (but not oftern) the casinos do have kid-friendly shows (again depending on age), but I%26#39;m not sure of who will be there any time soon.

One more thing, if you happen to be going on a weekend in February, check out what Mardi Gras events will be going on. Some areas on the parade route (not so close to the boats) are very kid friendly with churches having booths for face painting and crafts, etc.

Brings some shorts and a towel if they are small enough. There is a fountain that they can run through.
