I am making my first post-K Halloween trip and am trying to plot a perfect party night (actual Halloween night, not the weekend before). Previous years I have enjoyed the entire Bourbon scene but now I am intrigued by Frenchmen St.
I dress (or undress, as it were) for Halloween and want an ultra fun party crowd.
1. Should I venture to Frenchmen?
2. If starting on Bourbon, should I grab a taxi to Frenchmen or is it safe-ishly walk able (I will be with my husband; I will be drunk...you have to like a girl with a plan)?
3. What area of Frenchmen should I hit (I believe I read the Royal to Esplanade area)?
4. Is the scene pretty much a roving street party (like Bourbon) or is it more bar focused?
If I get any more psyched about this upcoming Halloween, I am going to have to be sedated for the month of September!
Thanks for help.
Halloween 07- Bourbon vs Frenchmen St?
Both ';scenes'; are fun, depending on when you go. There are usually lots of dressed people on Bourbon on the Saturday before Halloween, when the big gay party is held, and then again on the 31st. Frenchmen is also fun on the 31st.
The ';bar strip'; of Frenchmen only runs from Esplanade to Royal, so that%26#39;s the only choice. :-)
You can easily (and safely, esp during a holiday weekend) walk to/from Bourbon/Frenchmen by using Bourbon, Royal, Chartres or Decatur.
Halloween 07- Bourbon vs Frenchmen St?
Thanks, CajunWave!
I think I will just have to hit them both. Being in my 30s, if I start training now, there is no reason I cannot party all Halloween night. The nice thing about being ';older'; is being able to afford a post-raucous spa day and transfusion (if needed).
Hope to see everyone there!
