Hello, we are thinking of going to voo doo music fest in Oct. It%26#39;s in City Park. What are some good hotels to stay at around there? Never been to New Orleans before!
Thanks!
Where to stay for voodoo music fest?Hi Kac! I also may be going to the voodo music fest. We are planning on staying close to the quarter because that is where a ton of the action is. Also, I plan on taking a cab to the fest if I end up going.
If you do want to get a hotel, make sure you book it soon cause that weekend is also halloween and things fill up very fast!
Where to stay for voodoo music fest? Thanks travlinphilly ! I just called but they are completely booked. :-( It looked so nice though!!!
Looking forward to voodoo fest- never been. We usually go to ACL Fest here in Austin but are skipping in this yr b/c the line up didn%26#39;t look as good as it has been. Voodoo fest looks awesome!!!
travlinphilly, what is the bus stop that you are referring to? What streets is it at? I%26#39;m just curious.
And, do any of you who know your way around New Orleans know if there’s a Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, or Crowne Plaza anywhere that’s pretty convenient to get to the voodoo fest? Or any locations of those three that you’d recommend?
That is too bad they are booked. It the city bus. From their I took the Esplande bus line which their is a station at Esplande and Rampart. But that will vary depending on where you stay.
As for holiday inn%26#39;s there is one in the quarter. But heard its not that nice. Nice location but not that up-to-date.

There are really not any hotels close to the City Park area. A few B%26amp;Bs are in this area--try the bbnola.com website and look for MidCity or City Park locations.
Otherwise, just stay in/near the French Quarter or downtown. N.O. is fairly small and cabs aren%26#39;t expensive.
If you are a holiday inn fan I%26#39;d still avoid both FQ properties and I%26#39;ve been in both but outside the quarter is the Holiday Inn Superdome which is an excellent property the we%26#39;ve been at a number of times and a decent rate for parking also. But I%26#39;d also try to check out a number of places in the quarter such as the Bieville House, Place D%26#39;armes, St Marie, Prince Conti, Le Richelieu, Provincial, Monteleone, Bourbon Orleans.
well my brother in law works for ic hotels group so we get discounted rates at holiday inns, crowne plaza, ic hotels.... :-) But if the holiday inns there are crappy then we will stay somewhere else! The more I think about it though, I definitely want a hotel and not a B%26amp;B. I figure we%26#39;ll be up late and sleeping late, so we won%26#39;t get the full value out of a B%26amp;B that way!
Thanks for the hotel suggestions, I%26#39;ll look into them.
can anyone recommend some cheap, clean hotels in the French Quarter? We won%26#39;t be in the room much but to sleep so I don%26#39;t want to spend much on the hotel. Of course, it must be clean!
We never stay in hotels but when we went down in the spring, we stayed at the R Bar and Hotel on Kelerec and Royal, one block off Esplanade and it was great. We got the Royal Suite. Loved it, so much better than a hotel. Warning that they do not come up and clean and if you need fresh towels, you have to go to the bar and get them. We otherwise use rentals that we get off apartment rental websites.
